Homeless Asssisting Non-profit Operational Database

For more than 30 years, the Homeless Coalition Palm Beach County has been the voice for those who are experiencing homelessness, advocating for their rights and a place they can call home. The Coalition has been a strong leader within the community by recommending policy changes to improve services. It also identifies strategies that can produce results, and gets the message out to the community for prompt action.

The Homeless Coalition’s Policy and Legislative Committee brings issues forward and offers solutions. The Coalition constantly monitors national, state and local legislation and news to distribute information through the Coalition’s communication network including this website and social media outlets.

In 2015, national regulations dictated that homelss services had to integrated into a digital system. The Gadfly Project was approached to assist Homeless Coalition PBC with a solution that allowed the transition into a digital operation.

A cloud-based database was developed that allowed all of the services to be categorized. An application allowed worker to monitor services and dispense information and services to clients in need.

There was an additional need for an ability to conduct an annual field count of homeless individuals. An application was developed that let field workers count indiviuals and enter it into a central database for easy tabulation.
